A Life in a Second

I often wonder whether others wonder
"What's it like to be inside his head?"

Stolen power before their eyes! It’s evil hidden in disguise!
The group they call the Shadowtide has taken over. Now it’s time to
get up and stand up to fight!

I was wandering on in the twilight hours when I happened by a piece of paper in a little park
No faces on it tough to swallow as day grows darker I begin to feel followed
But I have to do what the government says if I don’t cooperate I’ll be laid to rest in the Overgrown Hollow labor camp
People forced to work with the sun boiling their backs all because they found themselves on the wrong side of the tracks
No water and no shade they have to work all f*&^ing day like slaves so how was this made to be the punishment for an honest man’s mistake?

An agent noticed late that he’d lost his written orders somewhere near the park where he’d watched his children play
Rushing to the park to retrieve the note he wrote he arrives to find a man in a black leather jacket putting something small and white inside his coat
Without letting the man see the agent snuck through trees carefully, quietly, and with a sense of urgency
He saw the man look around, knowing what was about to go down the agent walked into the open field and saw the man begin to sprint away with horror on his face

The agent called out to the man in the jacket “Give me that piece paper and no one has to get hurt!”
The man turned around for a second like forever knowing what happens next could change the face of history forever
An unarmed civilian against a Shadowtide agent, he knew he was in trouble so he had to think in a jolt
Right then that very second it struck him like a bolt of lightning, he needed to get the message to the people in their homes as many as possible as quick as he can

They plan to stage attacks and blame it all on the humans!
